Ember:
Ember was born in the abbey, her parents were good wildcats. She never had any big adventures or saddening tales, but her little sister did die of dry ditch fever. Little Chryssie...... But Ember didn't know her sister very well anyways, and feels no saddenness.

Zo:
Zo had a more exciting history. His parents both fell ill, and they could care for him. So they dropped him off with their friend log-a-log. One day, Log-a-log and his shrews were boating when their boat fell into a waterfall and they drowned. All except for Zo. He swam out and made his way to Redwall Abbey, where he lives now.
