Well, have you ever wondered how Marie, obviously a Highlander, ended up at Redwall? Well, here's the tale! Hope ye like! ;D

She was born in the Highlands, to Dee and Shawn Blue-eyes. Her parents were of a line of warrior mice of the North, and that's partially where Marie gets her warrior-like mentality. When she was only about four seasons old, a band of assorted vermin began making raids on the creatures of the north. Her parents were inclined to stay and fight, but they feared for their only daughter's safety. In the interests of young Marie, they fled south. Marie always resented this- the fact that her parents might've stayed and fought if it weren't for her. It's just another thing that drove her to become a warrior. On the southern journey, which lasted two seasons, the young family met up with many different creatures- Long Patrollers, otter holts, squirrel tribes... But the group that influenced the young mouse the most was most definitely the GUOSIM shrews. Among those boisterous creatures, her love of fighting was fostered and grown. It was from them that she learned to fight with the mouth, and later on, the blade. Her family eventually landed at Redwall, but they always kept close relations with the shrews of Mossflower.
