When vermin dared approach our nest, I was tempted to fight them, yet my parents didn't permit me to go. However, my anger against vermin and my parents grew and grew, until one day I shot right past them towards the vermin! I killed a large number of them, and my parents swooped after me, desperate to save me. However, they were not quick enough, and I became captured. I do not know the fates of my parents. However, an approaching band of hares, mice, and shrews attacked these vermin, and defeated them. One of them said, "Hello. I am Matthias the Warrior. I hail from the Redwall Abbey, where all are welcomed except those who seek to destroy us. And those who seek to destroy us will never succeed. Would you mind coming with us to the Abbey to live there?" I, almost dead from starvation, wearily nodded my head. Then, the Redwallers led me to their abbey, where I swiftly recovered.
