I was born during autumn, they tell me. My parents were wanderers, so as soon as I could cope, they left. I am not an orphan, so far as I know, and I truly want to see them.
As a small dibbun, my sister took care of me. One dusty Sunday she went to the market, and a magpie came. He said that he only wanted to talk, but as soon as I was close enough, a gang of ravens and crows threw a sack over my head.
When I woke up, I instantly began to feel almost weightless. It was quite pleasant, until I remembered what had happened. I busied myself knawing a hole in the bottom of the sack. When it was big enough, I slipped through. I landed on the back of a mangy raven. He squaked and threw me off. I landed, fortunately, in the treetops, but I couldn't get down. Near dusk, a squirrel came and found me.
"Whatcha doin' up here, earthcrawler?" She asked.
"I gotted kid-in-napped by cwows and I 'scaped and I fell and 'den you found me!"
"OH! That's what the crows was 'ere for. What your name, mousie?"
"Ferntail Ambereye."
"Oh! I'll take you ta Redwall Abbey and you can be with litt'le 'uns yer own age!"
"'Kay."
So she brought me here and I'm havin' so much FUNFUNFUN!!!!
