 I was born in Mossflower Wood. My mother (her name is Rosepine) and Father (his name is Thornseed), we were all squirrels, had escaped from slavery in the North and came down the River Moss. I was born in an elm tree, so they named me Elmba. My parents had heard of Redwall Abbey and traveled there where I have been living ever since.
