I were hatchered in da Far Northlands. Ma mother an' father took ma fer ma first flyin' lesson when we was caught in a 'lizzard. I fell to da ground an' were insulated by snow, but ma parents kept flyin'. I never saw dem agin, an' have reason to bewieve dey was frozen to death. I fwapped an' fwuttered where da wind took ma fer 'alf a season, alone an' unhappy. I crashed into a oak saplin' near yer Abbey, thus injurin' ma wing. A squirrel from Redwall found ma the next morning an' carried ma to yer Abbey, where I joined DAB.
