I bought a solution that dissolves ear wax, so I avoid using hydrogen peroxide or alcohol, since they are more prone to cause inflamation.

I dunno about the cigar smoke advice, Dio. The doctor used a wick to increase my ear canal, since it shrunk to pin hole dimensions. I doubt I could have smoke blown into my ear, even if I wanted to try that crazy idea.
