Could you please be more clear on a couple of things:
"oh man I love this crap"=
"this is correct, pretty much"=

I have never read Schopenhauer, so I can't debate him. I will give his books a try.

I love Philosophy, it is only a hobby for me. I should be more selective on whom I try to debate with...namely you Psi. If I remember correctly you have a degree in the subject. There isn't much I can say about your comments...so you win, I give up.
Here I thought I had a nice grip on the subject and was pretty clear on my opinions of Kant. Like any other philosophy you read, there are some great points and some poor ones. I felt Kant had more poor ones than great. I do have a tendency to go against the grain and when ppl tell me Kant was a great philosopher...I try to find faults. This in no way changes my mind, but it will make me re-read him and take what you have said in account. Then I will get back to this.

This also doesn't stop the fact that Kant was a racist. I know..I know, now I am beating on him personally.

"another way of looking at it is that the world from our perspective is always divided into subject and object, we being the observing subjects and the objects being that which we observe. Kant's insight was that the observer presupposes the structure of everything we experience onto the object. We see a tree through the structure of how our minds interpret reality--through time, space and our senses." You said.

I still feel your mind doesn't mold the tree, the tree molds your mind.

One part if you don't mind explaining better for me:
I say "If Kant claims that he can't know anything about the real world (the thing in itself) then how does he know the real world is there?"
Thank you.

Funny thing Philosophy...I have debated plenty of ppl who "claim" to be philosophers and know their shit. Then I ended up beating them, and I only read it when I have time..which meant for me I shouldn't take any classes in the subject. Your making me start to believe I need to re-read many of the books I have read...now that I am an adult and not the drunken youth of old.
The "law of Noncontradiction" has always been a favorite tool of mine. David Hume is another philosopher I didn't care for (once again, I have not read all of his work).

Oh, another book I recently read was called "Original intent", I forget the author. It was a book about the U.S. Gov. and the original intent of its creators. I am thinking your an aithiest Psi..so you might not want to read it. It deals with religion in alot of parts.

Since Psi knows more than me on the subject of Philosophy, I think I will just beat him with a stick. Love ya Psi!
::hug::
