I was so trilled to read the amagazing developments of the thoughts each writer conveyed re Enga language/Heritage. How terrific; such one could feel, just by picking up the spirit of each writer as he/she expresses the sentiments of being an Engan. No wonder.. Emba Enga etao dape. Blessed to be packed in Heaven, send to Earth, delivered in Wayback, Engaland.
I was in Enga in November, '07(after being away from the Country 2 years)and two things struck me and raised my eyebrow. That is the facelift which the new BSP bank gave and the emerging New Enga cultural Center. This is genuine physical manifestation and fruit of someone's sweat of his/her brow.
Having said that; I would like to congradulate my cousines: Alome K, Nitze Pupu-Disable (yet one of Engan brains), Aki Tumu (Enga heritage watchman), whom I saw wayback in 70's,through to 90's giving their best shots, despite the challenges with Pauline to give Engan our "Akalyanda-haus man"-CULTURAL CENTRE. It's your undivided sacrifices which paved way for the finances to erect our "Akalyanda" Yes... TRULY UNDER GOD'S GUIDENCE ENGA SHALL NOT LOOSE STRENGTH.
Waku Tange.

Bro, Engans are unique in terms of culture and tradition. We have scared cultures and rituals that are ample to die with us. However , it seems there is always a conflict of interest between the contemporary and introduced western culture. I for one I live far away from home sweet home Engaland but I do value some of the cultures that I feel has its effects and consequences when neglected.

I am also confuse with the current state of the customs and rituals which are our pride and dignity. Thus Im condusting a major research on this issue so if you have any ideas just let me know.

Eagles Eye,

It's good to know you are doing a research on Enga's culture, thus we also need this to be published so it's still alive somewhere somehow...I am also willing to help gather ideas and stories so drop in a mail on my e-mail given by clicking the bold.

Komai
