The fight broke out at a party in a vacant house on Waratah St, Doveton, in Melbourne's south-east, about 8.30pm (AEDT) Sunday. Both men were aged 20 with one of them, from Dandenong, suffering deep lacerations to his legs and serious blood loss, Metropolitan Ambulance Service spokesman Paul Bentley said. "He was taken by a MICA (mobile intensive care ambulance) paramedic to the Alfred Hospital and is in a stable condition," he said. "The other man (from Rowville) was taken to Dandenong Hospital with deep wounds to his ankle." Detectives from the Dandenong criminal investigation unit are investigating the assaults. Police say the Dandenong man was chased up the street by a group of men and struck multiple times with an axe.
