Sorry for the reporter who quoted word for word. Should have investigated or even visited the sites first before reporting as these reports are miseading. We will find out after July if the peope of Wabag truely accepted the free handout?

Get your facts correct, Sam Abal actually budgetted and used the DSG to pay his voters who voted him in during the 2004 by-election?

The K1.1M should have been better utilized if the MPís office can properly budget and spend on the needed impact projects.

Below is an extract from a previous correspondense....

Would you spend this type of cash payouts on unplanned projects if it was money from your own company? We preach a lot about transparency, accountability, stewardship, enterprising and ownership of peoples assets but when will we ever practice what we preach?

The people of Wabag are not fools, they can not be mislead by a desperate MP who got lost somewhere between NCD and SHP. The Engans today are more matured in politics than our people from the last century and I won't be surprised if they get those money as their Ďpinis peií.

I hope the responsible authorities like Ombudsman and ORD can check if the peoples money is properly used. Wish the Works Dept can also check on their engineers at Wabag if these works are properly scoped and built to engineering specifications or standards. I hope my colleagues are not compromising with safety and their professionalism in the name of politics? My engineering assessment of the roads are nothing more than a catalyst for erosion..

Only to name a few, Lakemanda was given K40,000 for physically doing nothing, Aipusa was given K20,000 and the list goes on. Surprisingly, some villagers including Keas and Sari rejected what was offered because they thought they deserved more than what was offered. All other villagers from Akom to Surunki who feared free handouts pretended to do something by cleaning existing road drains, etc.

The truth is, when distributed, each individual will end up with only a K10 or K20 note but what can you buy with a Somare head these days? Good luck to us, free money, easy come, easy go!, before you know, itís all gone???

Member, thanks for the initiative, we will come and line up at the green house again when the road drains are blocked and grasses are grown up again.

If it's another of those free handouts, please next time be careful of what you publish ..AND ALWAYS BE CAREFUL OF WHAT YOU PUBLISH! It reflects on your leadership.
