I totally agree with spotlight. Aspiring leaders who try their luck are not leaders. Only in a gamble, people become lucky. Leaders are choosen by the people to represent their views and needs in parliament.

As for Mathew Parep, he was my school captain at Passam National High School, and then at UPNG he was the National Union of Student vice president. He graduated with a political science degree. I am not campaigning for him, but since some people asked who Mathew Parep is, i need to highlight his credentials. After graduating from UPNG, i lost touch with him and i dont know his current status, where he was working etc?

From what i saw from his leadership style as a student, he sure portray some of the characters of the likes of late Malipu Balakau and Daniel Kapi. Most of his views, stemmed from socialist background. Such people like late Malipu Balakau, Daniel Kapi and late Iambaki Okuk had strong socialist views and they stood out among the crowd. Many people in PNG dont agree with socialist style of leadership, but, such people possess no nonsense approach of leadership. They provided necessary leadership for the people without fear or favor.

All Enga needs now is someone who can lead them without fear or favor. Enga needs a no nonsense leader, a leader who does not try to accumulate wealth and fame for himself but wealth and fame for his people.

All i can say is, some candidates possess certain qualities of leadership that Enga needs, and people need to be more careful in choosing a good leader for Enga. Most of us who are commenting in this forum are living ourside of Enga and cross our fingers for our people back home to send someone who will represent us in parliament.

WHATEVER...LUCK is the common game of politics in PNG particularly in the Highlands this days. Come back to Enga and preach what you preach. Otherwise, live your dreams and die with them.
