I belief last minute ploys by sitting MP's will never make peoples mind change. For sitting members, there is no need for them to jump-up-and down, all they need to do is relax during election period because their 5 years in office has told their story. Those who dont relax during election period are people who havent performed.
Last minute manoevours by sitting MPs is a sign of someone who is not confident of himself. If he aint confident of himself, then it is a reflection of his own people who are not confident of his leadership. Shaky leaders who tend to slip in money here and there have surely been shaky in their entire period in parliament.
People like Karpa Yarka, Don Polye, Miki Kaeok, Peter Ipatas, and the other sitting MP's of Enga province, should be at peace now, no need for jumping up and down, because the people already judged them. It is rather shameful for sitting MP's to deliver trucks, cash, roads etc.. right now. I dont think Enga people are that stupid to cast their votes because of what they are doing right now.
There is a saying, "When a husband want to make love, they sent the kid to fetch water with a very good reward".. That analogy can be taken into this situation where sitting MP's are giving lollies to people while their are munching on a mutton chop..
Time will tell, who the performing MP was for Enga. I pray that, the best people are selected this time. I have confidence in the current voting system, which will produce the best.
