People of Ambum-Kompiam have been politically hoaxed again by John Pundari with his foul bloody games.

One confirmed death in Enga polls

By PETER KORUGL in Wabag
ONE man is dead, two others are injured and a district returning officer is on the run in Enga as polling winds down in the province.
The death and injuries were confirmed by Enga election manager Henry Kyakas yesterday.
He said this was the only report of a death and injuries during polling in the province.
According to reports obtained by The National, the death and injures occurred in a shooting incident at the Ambum-Kompiam electorate.
Reports said ballot boxes for the Alukul, Kaimanda, Keman and Kaimas areas being airlifted by helicopter, were diverted to Aiametes.
The reports said when the voting was in progress, voters from the areas where the ballot boxes and papers were designated, came to demand their return.
“They were fired upon by the supporters of the candidate from that area,” an eyewitness said.
“One man was killed and two were injured.”
Mr Kyakas said the death and injuries had occurred because one of his election managers had taken bribes from a candidate.
“I have put the word out for his arrest,” he said.
“Police are now hunting for the officer.”
Mr Kyakas also reported that members of a polling team fled for their lives when a candidate and armed supporters raided a polling area and took a ballot box containing 1,500 votes.
He said the team that went to Aipandu fled for their lives after they were fired upon by the candidate and his armed men.
“The ballot box with the papers had been burnt,” he said.
Apart from these two incidents, polling in Enga ended smoothly and the counting of votes should commence today.
Mr Kyakas said a helicopter would be sent to Laiagam to airlift all the ballot boxes to Wabag, where all the counting would take place.
He said this was the first time Enga had experienced peaceful polling and thanked everyone involved in making it happen.
Mr Kyakas attributed the peaceful polling to the limited preferential voting system introduced in this polling.
