In case we misunderstand, real development consists of

1. Valuing lifes of the people. that is to do with - health, security and the preservation of lives.
2. Sustaince of life. that involves making sure that people live confortably as much as possible.

its true the gov't cant do everything. and we are not asking them to do that. but current Ipatas governments' blatant failure and damning iqnorance of the law & order problem, turning a blind eye to the general health of the people and other similar situations is a deplorable "in-action" by the self-styled "action-governor".

anyway you look at it. the last ...how many years was this sex-addict governor was in power?...he has FAILED! as soon as the Sauwans pass Par...they "push" the trucks home, anyone traveling to Hagen, after passing Lenki - even a non-Christian prays, and traveling up - after passing Sopas we are in no-man's land.

While the REAL Engans bleed to death, he has pushed the people's money into holes only his balls can enter and into the bulching stomachs of his fatigued public services machinery!

Yet, during every election time, Enga chants "Action Governor"! We are doomed, unless Enga injects fresh blood into the "People's Center" (not ipatas center).

Look? there's gotta be a way. a leader must arise. Lives must be valued, and protected. Is there any? A search for a real leader, denying our own preconcieved biases...can begin here. Can we suggest some names.....critigue them. and agressively campaign for them in the next election?

Concerned.

Concerned,

I am very truly inclined and supportive of your suggestion. In the hearts and minds of Engans who want to see true change (materialistic, visible & tangible development and development that makes sense), this has been the one question that has kept us asking, who is Engas next leader?

Just an idea, say, if we are trying to search for a leader for our province and support him all the way to the next election, I would not want to support anyone who has been there already or in other words, former candidates. Instead, let’s come up with ways (open for discussion with criticism) in this forum and suggest names of individuals whom possess ‘that’ charm that to me only two people in the history of Engan Politics exhibited to the whole nation, Sir Tei Able and Malipu Balakau.

Here is my suggestion. Could we all list the names of past Enga Association Presidents of our major institutions (University of PNG, University of Technology, University of Vudal, University of Goroka, Divine Word University, all the teachers and nursing colleges etc..............) and on this forum, openly discuss this.

This will be time consuming and such a gigantic task but guess what? Once we arrive with that one particular person to take lead our province, either male or female, I am sure somewhere, history will be written.

Just a suggestion:

UPNG President (1999): Benny Tanda

Enga Students Association University of Technology (2000): Londari Nakipan

University of Technology (2003): Wanpis Sangut

Enga Students Association University of Technology (2003): Jack Waitai

You wonder where he gets all that money to sponsor Ipatas cup all over the country. Clean up your back yard first. For fuck sake stop this nonsense popularity contest quest for your own image.

Here's a thought, do you think the next governor is going to rename the admin building in wabag? The cureent name does not qualify.

We run on emotions and then we pay the price for it, whether it is in politics, tribal warfare, etc...

Find the next Malipu Balakau and he is your leader for Enga and for PNG.

Kanopate,

What tangible development has rugby brought to the lives of the ordinary Engans or the lives of the players? anyway you look at it, it doesnt enhance lives in anyway. ZERO! those who have played in the past and the current, where are they? all that we heard was that some were jailed in Rabaul, others died of AIDS, and many do not put their HANDS into the soil. 7 days a week they roam the streets of Wabag. becaue ol save face , someone throws a K2 at them and they basically live off that. and I say, sports (though has some good), that must not and should not be the PRIORITY of the governor.

Every break, i am in wabag town, the same ol faces that i have seen year after year...continue to roam the streets. Sad to say but....that truth is they have become "stray dogs". and they are eye sore to the geniune, descent engan....who comes to wabag once awhile for real work or shopping!

Enga must realise where we are headed. and SPEAK UP! and i understand this is where the engan educated meet...so hope that we come to this realisation quickyly.

All Engan's are born leaders and there are countless of individuals out there. All we need to do is to identify,choose/select, support and give the mandate to lead. We have student leaders, business leaders, church leaders and political leaders, etc. To be a leader, you got to have your followers/supporters?.

The ideal time to choose political leaders is during the general election where individuals put their hands up but our parents are forever brain-washed by K2 and sipian paralis' so what next??

Leadership bought by millions of kina will never help the up and coming generation.

Mate, lets be content with what we have???????

Find the next Malipu Balakau! He still stands tall in Enga and PNG when comparing with all the past and present politicians since Independence. No one matches him.

Find the one who truly as the heart for the province and nation! Not goats with sheep skins preaching about fantasies during election times.

I still believe that an Engan will change Enga and PNG once and for all!

Cheers
NARO
