My friend who skated with inline claps said they
were mostly OK (not better) on level ground, but
very hard to skate up hills because it was like
skating only on your toes. (This was last year;
the skates were full 5 wheel claps, not partial,
with only 2 or 3 wheels pivoting, like the new claps.)

I use claps (Maple) for long track ice & love them
(my technique is sloppy, but the skates compensate
for some of that). But they are harder to start in,
and no-one uses them for short-track ice, so I think
they would not be good for indoor inline.
Outdoor inline maybe, but I don't know where to buy
any, so I will wait. I could maybe make some,
if I had much time and money, but I would rather be
skating!
