Subject: You know what I find funny...

You know... I've been following hockey for years and I belong to these groups that talk hockey. I live in the San Jose area and I know something or other of this Nolan talk.
Listen... I don't like to talk about these famous hockey players but a friend told me about this and he asked me to write this after we had a desicussion about that previous thread. So here it goes:
I think it's very ironic for how here is a man who is known for liking his privacy - that's fine with me - BUT there has been NUMEROUS occasions when we are discussing hockey thru a group, and I have to hear about his life because of his "wife". She has a mouth larger than the Red Sea ... we have litterally gotten to a point of saying "agAIN?". That's all she wants to do is report to SJ about the Nolans life. And even more- we have come to find out(not by investigation) that she isn't always in Toronto with him so why not talk about MY GREAT life _ and "that's who she is". What this has to do with hockey - we are still trying to figure out but IT CAN't wait to be SAID!! Unfortunately we know the people who are repeating this and are connected to her/them (the friends) not him - HER! It seems hypocritical for a man who likes his privacy but I now know his middle name (so to speak) and yet the mouth goes on.
I have started deleting any message that I recieve in my email with the subject line Nolan knowing now that it probably won't be telling me about him playing - I mean the guy can pure talented out there on the ice.

Personally, I think any team he goes to in this league they will have a great player and honestly I thought him going to Toronto was great (not for us) but for his life. To get away from the "downtown" scene where there is so much immaturities and it would allow him to be more of who he is or seems to be. Maybe he'll see that life here didn't have to be like that/this and find himself ...
I mean what kind of life must it be when all the talk is about her missing SJ and SJ this and that when HE is there playing for his country, his hometown(close enough) and around HIS family. NOT ONCE but she deserves an AWARD?? Jesus, what's life here?? but there will probably be talk now because this has been said (you have nooo idea how bad it can be) - none the less what an HONOR!! But nooo... it has to be about her EVERY time!! It HAS to be about how much she misses her groupie friends and how much she can't stand Toronto and how much she NEEDS to go back to SJ so she can be crowned by her friends as SOO much better than everyone else. In my opinion she LIED to Owen about who the hell she is/was and now I have these opinions and look less for writting this. It was enough to get me to start deleting the emails from MY HOCKEY GROUP!!!!!
But that is a decision for Owen Nolan to make and the best of luck to him and his life!! He's a great player and I will continue to cheer for him - and this is as nice I can write this.
In terms of the ORIGINAL poster: It's like this...
He is generally a nice person but they had put a lot of pressure on him (raising a young team) that he responded to in his person around the locker room because in his mind that's how you were supposed to take on those responsibilites but I think some of the younger guys felt intimadated not only by him and his style of play but they also disagreed with some tactics OFF the ice. And I know for a fact from a current SJShark that he DOES NOT like Diane for reasons that I will NOT repeat. But it changed him towards Owen - he realixes that Owen was scapegoat though... so get your act together!!
But do realize that Owen was NOT playing well prior to the trade to Toronto.. cough ... it almost seemed like he wanted to be traded out of San Jose. I DON'T think it was because he was captain.. I thought he DID AWESOME as captain. He deserves so much credit!!!!

In terms of what I've seen of him around towm was that he is a genuine and from the heart. And when that's the case then you will not find A LOT of people who will understand that. They will look for a PLAY!! They think someone like that is nieve and is easy to pick on or to talk crap about because he won't necessarily PLEASE you! And he almost always just LET IT FLY!!
Ex.: I was at a Sharks function and a guy told him to go f*** himself because he was having a conversation with an elderly couple and he should STOP everything to talk to that fan. THAT WAS AWFUL!!! Everyone just looked at that guy and he KNEW he was WRONG!!!!! He had to have known ...

Heck.. this is a guy who once bought a round for me and my friends at his bar because it was FUN!! But this was before that stuck-up girl who would rob him blind if she had a chance! got her once in lifetime!!!
But I'm sure he would be just as cool when he's alone!

And here's my contribution to the "voy forums" and I have partying to get on with... I give the "great" marriage of "SJ" a year. And really lady "he's a cool GUY!!!!". Don't listen to all this smack!!
