I liked that this fic was not about Buffy and cast. It was a refreshing feel to read about the Angel cast and have them in situations that still felt similar. That said there are some people out there that do not watch Angel. They know of him, Faith, Cordelia and Wes because of Buffy but not from his own series so those reading it wanting something familiar may be disappointed. The same with the back story. We may know what happened between Wes and Faith when she came back and terrorised the AtS gang but others who did not watch may not. I actually liked just having the Angel gang in it. As it was sometimes from different points of view this would have made it too confusing to have any more characters in it. I did find it difficult at times to know who was speaking as some of the characters that we didn't know weren't as clearly defined.
The characters seemed true to what we know occured and I liked how they dealt with the "betrayal". I actually liked this better than how it was done in the show but that's mainly because I like happy endings.
I loved the reference to pop culture songs. I love How Faith could not get Offspring out of her head. I've always liked how songs can make you feel and how they can reflect how you are thinking and feeling at times. They can often define moments and help you understand.
I liked bringing Wes's father into it. He is just how I imagined he'd be. Always linked to his job and not really giving a damn about anything else. I also liked how the writer brought up past events. I loved Cordy shipping Groo off on a bus and was glad that the writer put Angel and Cordy together. Wes and Faith also seemed natural and made a good fit.
There were some spelling anf grammatical errors that I noticed and the piece did feel a bit long. Overall I liked it and will give it...

I wanted to comment on something you mentioned. You spoke of backstory, and how a non-Angel-viewer might not know about the Wes/Faith history... That's very true. But the thing about fanfic is, one has to assume that one's readers HAVE seen the show. That's what I see happening with all fanfic. If I read fic from a fandom I've never seen, I get VERY confused, VERY quickly and VERY easily. In fact, I close the browser cuz I have no idea what's going on. By that same token, if the writer was trying to make the fic easier for unfamiliar readers, by using the dreaded exposition paragraphs and such, the readers who DO watch the show and know it inside and out would find it beyond annoying because we KNOW all that stuff already. We don't need to hear it again. As well, most people look at Fanfiction as an extension of the show. Under that assumption, one reads fanfic as if it were a show. They don't do exposition in the shows, not like that. We get a 2 second flashback before the show starts, but after that you're on your own. Which is how I like it. Because if too much time is spent explaining the backstory, the story itself never has time to move forward. *grin*

Just my opinion.

Meanwhile, I've only gotten up to the part where Cordy and Wes and Fred and Gunn are getting ready to go help Faith. Or something. And Faith's walking the streets of LA. I plan to read the rest soon, because I'm really enjoying this. It's well-written, interesting, and clear. A few typos, here and there, but nothing major, and one forgets about it soon after. And there was one thing that annoyed me. The author wrote "Lorne, the green-skinned demon, blahdy blah blah..." at Lorne's first appearance. Going back to my earlier comments about exposition...that annoyed me. Because I KNOW who Lorne is. And if someone doesn't know who Lorne is, do you really think they're going to READ the fic? Because let's face it...if someone's never watched the show, but reads the fanfic, they've been reading said fanfic for a long time, and know the characters already. If they've never read fanfic, either, they probably aren't gonna. Not for this show, anyway.

Just my thoughts.

Okay. Time to get ready for work. *sob* 12 hour shift. Followed by an hour of driving, 5 hours of sleep, then an 8 hour shift. Who's dumbass idea was this??

Oh yeah. Mine. Heh.
