.a broad river flows down the land, and the largest tributary is called the soyata. the band of mares claim the terrain surrounding that section as their own, and venture forth only to cause trouble for stallions, attempting to get their mares to rebel against them, hence the nickname "rebels". only those invited by the leader may step on the sacred soil. on rare occasions, a bold mare may enter and be permitted to leave with no more then the sight of flattened ears and bared teeth, but for a stallion to tresspass is to sign a death wish.
