Subject: What bothers me most is how fast my kids are growing up

It seems like it was just yesterday that their fat little Winston Churchill heads could barely hold themselves up. Now with one in college and the other moving swiftly through high school and the last one about to leave elementary school I feel it's all gone too fast, I want more! Lately when I hug and kiss my children I do so like it's the last time I'll be able to. I just don't want to let go. My son is a man in his own right, he doesn't need me, but I still need to hug him as if he's 6 years old and has scraped his knee. My daughter is more interested in teenage boys than in anything having to to with her old man...I miss being idolized. Once I was her hero...now I'm just in the way.

I understand the whole thing about them growing up and all but why does the love I feel for them pain me...why?

The circle of life never foretold of the parent's pains.

Alas, I shall remain silent...endure painfull yearning for times gone by, perhaps for a fleeting moment of recognition and a short display of love they still hold dear for their old man.
