Had lunch at Bahr's (yuck!). The Ocean was great, at least 10 foot seas with foam a good 250 yards out. I was surprized that they were letting people drive out on the hook. The sailboarders were having a blast in Spermiceti Cove because it was smooth as glass but had big winds.

Tonight will be the floods because the winds probably won't allow this afternoon's high tide to drain so it will build for a huge crest late tonight. It was a really high tide this afternoon too so expect Sea Bright to be on TV tomorrow.

I had the marina pull the boat out of the water because of the storm, but I'm going down Saturday and putting it back in. Now that my son's in school I get to use the boat, so I've decided to play with it next week then winterize it for the season.

I have to admit I really love it when the weather is like this. Why do I enjoy this so much? If there's a hurricane, gale or even just a Nor'easter I head down the shore to be near the water. I think I take after my grandfather who used to love to sit on the porch during violent electrical storms. Just another one of those bizarre "Sammy" quirks I guess.

I hope you folks are safe and enjoying this weather, it's a marvel of nature!
