From what I can see Senior Nights on the Division 1 and NAIA level are completely different things. Playing NAIA basketball I can tell you that I never had a dream when I was growing up of playing for Oklahoma Christian. Whenever I was young I dreamed of playing at Kansas, Duke, or even Wichita St. For that reason I never really got emotional my senior year at OC. I loved being there but it wasnt a fulfillment of a lifelong dream. I would say that this applies to 99% of all NAIA players. On the other hand players that play at the Division 1 level have envisioned at sometime in their life of playing at that school. Otherwise they would have probably gone somewhere else. Their senior night is the pinnacle of their dream coming true and for that reason you see them geting emotional because that dream is done. Being at numerous senior nights in the SAC it doesnt seem that much different than a normal game, except for the introductions before the game.
