Something must have been in the water out east.

Representing the conference in the men's national tournament is Voorhees, who with a 14-16 record will probably get to face someone like Mobile or Southern Poly in the first round.

Representing the conference in the women's national tournament is Edward Waters College, who with an 11-15 record might get to face somone like Point Loma or Union in the opening round.

Geez.

...until I got on the conference website and looked at the overall records of the six teams in this "conference."

I wonder how it feels to be Claflin. Both their teams will be staying home with 23-7 records, which are far and away the best in the conference. In fact, Claflin is the only men's team in that conference to have a winning overall record. The others: Morris 8-11 (how do you only play 19 games a season?); Edward Waters, 9-18; Voorhees, 11-14; Barber Scotia 5-23; and Allen, 1-29 (BIG OUCH).

The women's side did have two winning teams. After Claflin was: Voorhees, 16-12; Edward Waters, 9-15; Morris, 6-22; Allen, 6-21; and Barber-Scotia, who not only didn't play a nonconference schedule, they only played 9 of 10 conference games, going 0-9 on the year.

What a mess. And yet folks from other conferences gripe cause they think the SAC sends too many teams.
