Although she could not see his eyes from her position, she could certainly feel the change. Not sense like the vampire's could, but downright feel. It was a way in which the air changed around him because of it, a way in which his own body signals changed. Something she could never explain if asked; but she knew.

And she knew also the feelings that welled inside of him. The want - the need - to feel safe and comforted even if the world around you was falling apart, rejecting you. Rejection. That word burned through layers upon layers of memories in her mind, and straight through her heart. The emptiness from the thought-scent was something purely hers, just like any normal scent would have been. The oddity in the ability to project that... was something else that she could not explain had he asked. It just simply was when she willed it, to one who would search hard enough. Otherwise, it was just like touching air - nothing.

She shushed him, cooing almost in her vocalization, as he whimpered and drew into himself. Nyxia pulled him closer to herself, truly wanting to keep him calm and happy and feeling safe. Her smile returned to her face as if it had never disappeared as he began to purr. Even if she knew that it wasn't genuine in the best sense.

"Don't be afraid, little one. There's nothing to fear." She moved her hands across his body, tracing the edges of muscles expertly. And where she touched the heat built up like a warm afternoon soak, and it remained in place even after her hand trailed on to other places.

He loosened his grip on her hands to squirm up and turn around. He felt the remains of her warmth. His breathing came harshly now, almost like he needed her. The shifter shivered in his skin, not from the cold, but from the need, the desire to keep Nyxia to himself forever. His skin began to heat with the warmth of her expert hands. His chest, arms, legs, face, everything responded to her touch.

He blinked those unnatural amber eyes and stared at her face. "I don't fear anything but myself," he whispered to her. He leaned closer to her and paused, as if to kiss her, but followed with an action that was far more intimate for himself. Koen pushed his cheek past hers and buried his face deep within her hair, hoping that she wouldn't be startled and move. He tried taking in her scent, but knew it was useless. The action was just comforting and he had never done it to someone who wasn't part of the pard, the group of cat shifters that he had been raised with. They would forbid greeting a human, even a non-human, who wasn't a shifter in such a way.

Upon this realization, Koen sat back sharply. He stumbled away from Nyxia and the fact that he had included her in something private, something he held close to him. Shock, horror, fear-these things flashed through his mind. She was part of the pard now. What had he done?
