A talk with Vicki Zhao Wei (Translation) *From FPT Vietnam Media*

Since this is ZhaoWei and RubyLin visit Vietnam, we Ðô Th? Nam Phuong have the honor an privileges to interview one of
China Hottest star ZhaoWei. ZhaoWei and RubyLin main purpose to visit Vietnam is to perform in "Spring 2001" concert, and
also to meet their die hard fan.

Both "princess" perform on Feb.11-Fed.12,2001 at TaoDan stadium in Saigon(one the metropolis city in Southern Vietnam)

According from our sources (One of China well know media), ZhaoWei has been named as one of the "Four Talented
Actress/Beauty" of China at the beginning of 2001.

I: Welcome to Vietnam, and thank you for taking your time to talk to us. May I star the interview?

ZW: Thankyou. Yes, you may start.

I: In HZGG, you portrait a very active, vicious, curious, honest, straight-forward, and mischievous "Swallow". I and many have
wonder, it's your truth personality? Are
ZhaoWei mischievous as "Swallow" when she was young?

ZW: Actually, my childhood is just like any other. However there are time that I'm a little mischievous, active, jovial , than other
children. But overall, I'm not like "Swallow" because I have never lie.

I: With all those condition, why did you decide to be in teacher training program? Being a teacher?

ZW: I decide to enter teaching profession, because my mom believe teacher are very respectable career, honorable. Also,
teacher do get two vacation time each year (break)

I: With all of those benefit, why did you decide to not becoming a teacher? Why sudden change of career? and wanting to be
an actress? What are the reason behind this decision?

ZW: I choose to be an artist, mainly because of my personality. I'm a freedom lover, curious, and love to explore every little
thing around me. I can't swim, but I would go out a swim everyday by myself: there are time I learn piano, Chinese musical
instruments (*by the way what is the instrument that look like a Chinese piano, usually appear in kung-fu movie? The one that
Nicki Wu play in Swordgirl call?*). To me everything new, interesting, I would love to acquire, and learn. (Thirst for
knowledge right everyone?)That is one of the benefit of being an artist, able to acquire new thing, increase my knowledge,
and explore my surrounding.

I: So, to become an artist has always on the back of your mind when you was young?

ZW: That's right.

I: We also know that take an entrance exam to Beijing Movie Accademdy. With a very respectable score.

ZW: Honestly, before I have taken an entrance exam to "Shanghai Acting School" and I have received letter of acceptant.
After that, I receive a letter from Beijing Movie
Academy, I decide to go there, because Beijing Movie Academy offer many great opportunity, also it's a very well known and
respectable school in the Entertainment
Industry.

I: After four year of studying in Beijing Movie Academy, do you feel that your friends, teachers, and school are the major
contribution to your acting career?

ZW: Actually, this school and staff have provide me moral support enable me to have more confident in my acting ability.
Acting, to me is base on ability and experiences. For instance like "Chau Tan" (Sorry I don't how to translate that name to
English, or Chinese. I don't even know who is it. But a very well-known and famous actress in China)who
never attending any acting school, but did an excellent job, as an actress. To the point that
everyone have to say "she is the best among the best"

I: Did you ever consider yourself are as one of the luckiest star? Who able to achieve her
fame so quickly? And at a very young age?

ZW: Most people believe that I am. However in order to achieve these fame I have face too many obstacle. It just that I have
never mention it to anyone. I'm just like any other beginning actress/actor, struggling to break through the entertainment circle.

I: It's right that QY discover you when she went to Beijing in search for someone to act as "Swallow"?

ZW: No, QY's main intention to visit Beijing is to search for someone to act a "Erkang". Before went to Beijing, Auntie QY
have since my series "Sister Visit Beijing". In that series I have short hair, when QY meet me, my hair has growth a little bit
longer, she also able to witness my gentle and nature attitude. Therefore she ask me to portrait "ZiWei". However, when it day
to film HZGG, the actress to will portrait "Swallow" is busy, and that how I come to accept the role as "Swallow".

I: Before HZGG, you have act in many series, but never got any recognition. But, when HZGG release, you have become an
instant star. Is that because "Swallow" are one of the
best character? also it because that is very interesting role?

ZW: Yes, "Swallow" is a very great role, plus the script are excellent. After taking the role of "Swallow", I didn't let "Swallow"
enter the real world, with her personality. But I find the similarity and differences between "Swallow" and I, I also add some
flavor into this character I can see that "Swallow" are a mirror image of myself. I have add too many ZhaoWei's characteristic
into this "Swallow" to create a very active, and real character. Some of the my characteristic add the unique to "Swallow" like
blinking my eye ect.

I: Between movie and TV serie, which one would you prefer?

ZW: Both. But in this past year, I have act in many different TV series, I would like to take a chance to act in a movie. After
I'm a graduated student from Beijing Movie
Academy.

I: Do you feel you have change after you become famous? Or it's the same ZhaoWei the student from Beijing Movie
Academy?

ZW: Changes always taking place whether you are famous or not. However I'm not sure whether any changes taking place.
But there are some. For instance, before become famous I'm very shy, and in order for me to talk to someone, I have to meet
them twice or know them before hand. But after benefit "famous" I'm able talk with everyone. I become more active, and cope
with many unexpected situation. I also become more relax.

I:What is your wish after reaching "fame"?

ZW:I have never thought of that before. I've enough thing, all my wishes have been fulfill, I have never wish and dream for
anything else. I just know that I need to do well, and good on everything I do, movie, music,TV serie and ect.

I: Have you ever feel threaten and scare that one day people would forget you? Or you loose you "fame"?

ZW: No, I'm not scare of loosing my fame. But the only thing I'm scare of are loosing my family,love, and anything that could
affect me psychological.

I: Have you ever think that being famous could affect your personal life? For instance "love"?

ZH: Love? Ahh.... I think I know what you want to ask.

I: Ohh, may I ask the last question? You don't have to answer it if you don't want to. It's true that you and Vincent Yip are not
a couple?

ZW: (There a silent... seem to be thinking) May I not answer this question?

I: Thank you for joining us, and we hope you have a
wonderful time in Vietnam, and will visit Vietnam again?

ZW: Thank you for letting me to have an opportunity to talk with Vietnam's media, and let me expressing my thanks to all of
my fans. I will visit Vietnam soon. and that is the
promise.
