Subject: dose anyone know anything about guinea pigs?

John turned 9 yesterday, wanted something like a hamster or rat so we let him have a guinea pig anyway I've never had one before so I'm looking for advice. John named him "Funny JR" don't ask me why. It's got this really long fur that looks and feels like hair, he reminds me of a sixty's pop idol! anyway if you can give me advice I would appreciate it.
