Last year when we did our first big national pageant, we hired a big name hair and make up person. He did about 20 girls in one weekend, we all had schedules on when to be there, he changed their hair and touched up their make up for each event. These people that you can hire are pros and they can do a hair style in seconds.

It also took all the stress off me, after the first time I hired a h/m person, I refused to ever do a pageant again where they did not have them available. They do cost but they are well worth it.

My advice would be to use a hair fall. My daughter has long,thick blond hair that's beautiful but a handful to roll and fix.We used a H/M pro that did a wonderful job on her that everyone thought she had a fall.She did my dd h/m 3 dif times and it looked great. But a hair fall would be so much easier and faster and better for the hair.All you would have to do is fix it before the pageant(your local salon)or you can have them fix it and put it in.If you can use the fall watch the person doing it and later you can do it yourself and just hire someone to do her makeup.But,if your like me, having someone else do it puts the pressure of you and your able to enjoy it more.
