Hi,

I found your site, and it is wonderful! I just have a question.... you gave wonderful instructions on how to do "pageant hair", unfortunately, I didn't understand them much, LOL! So, I'm going to my hairdresser and asking for help in that aspect. Also, do you have any info on how to fix my daughter's hair if she has a hair piece? We just got one, and we're not sure on how to do it. Also, I was hoping for more specific make up information, like how to apply eyeshadow and eyeliner to make that "smoky" outside corner of the eye thing....

I know I'm clueless, but any help you would be able to give me (even if it's directing me to another site) would be wonderful!

Here are a few suggestions... as for the "fall", you roll it and style it the night before - just like you would if it were on her head. I do believe you need to wash it first so that it will take curl but check with the person that you bought it from before you do that just in case. You can roll her real hair lightly to give fullness to her hairdo and to make sure that it doesn't stick out underneath the fall. Roll the front just like you usually would for a pouf. Make a small sprout-like ponytail right behind the pouf - this provides an anchor for the comb of the fall to stick into so it won't fall off. Put on the fall, comb out and style the pouf blending some of her real hair over the fall so that you can't see where the real hair ends and the fall begins. As to doing a pouf, makeup, etc.... I still say the best way to learn is to pay someone one time and watch everything that they do. Many good H/M people go to prelims or other smaller pageants where they don't charge so much. You can get a good look at the products that they use as well as the way they do the makeup and hair. Then take a few closeup pictures of the completed "look". You can practice on your own at home. There used to be a board where you could ask questions to a H/M artist and I learned a whole lot there including makeup brands, colors, etc. I am pretty sure it no longer exists, though.... too bad - it was so helpful!

Hi! I have a couple of questions. I am going to be participating in a local pageant in February of 2004. The girls who normally participate in this pageant always have what I call a 'made up' look - which is what I need for on stage. I was just wondering if you had any suggestions for good foundations (long-lasting), and other products that will be great for stage makeup. Thanks so much. It was clinging to the edges of the bottle, and there was a hole down the middle of it. So the applicator went through that hole without touching the eyeshadow. Please tell me how to fix this!!! Thanks!!
