Hi, I have a question. My Daughter is 2 yrs old. We wil be entering her into the Sweet Pes Pageant in Florida in a few weeks. I know NOTHING about pageant's. The web site said, Christmas Pageant, Sunday wear or Pageant Dress. I found a Pageant dress, no-glitz, Short poufy charles dicken's retro look,W/ a hat.ginham print. Is this a good pick or no? I also bought a toile puff slip to fluff the bottom out more.

Also, on a baby this young should i just put her hair in a ponytail with a bow? do the hat? or pouf it out?

I appreciate any advise!!! Thank You so much!

Oh one more question..At her age(very young 2 yr old) Do they expect them to walk on stage alone???

Email the director with any questions you have. In most systems, 2 year olds are not on stage alone. Try several different things with the hair, and make sure she won't take a bat or bow off if she doesn't like it.

Sweet Pea is very unpredictable. Some say wear the sunday best and some say go all out with the glitz. They all say it is based on personality but I have done 2 of her pageants and my daughter placed last in a non-glitz dress in the first and she won queen wearing a glitz dress. I really think it is how the judges feel. I have never done a "Xmas" pageant though - just a regular prelim. Where is the pageant at you are doing?

My daughter has done pageants since she was 10 month, she is now 4. You should take her on stage till she is at least 3 or really comfortable. I still go on with my daughter but stand aside, and bend down to wisper smile big or big wave.
No hats! most begining pageants and state pageants do not like hats. I would put her hair up high with a bow in the middle. You dont need alot of glitz, not until you get to a national pageant. Hope I could help. Heather
