You misunderstand me Gaz...the power of et9 and Deftones that I meant is not distorted guitar and I certainly don't want us to become a metal band anyway...because we wouldn't all be happy like that. But the feeling of problem release is what I'm after. It's the feeling I get. It's probably a little hard to understand what I hear when I listen to these songs because everyone gathers their own understanding from these songs and this is a good thing. But if the entire band is pleased with a song it gels together better and so does the band. You'll know that from past experiences Gaz. I don't wanna rock the boat and I do want to go over to the emo side of things....but I don't want to skip out on aggression. There's no rule book as you know from listening to diverse bands within the one genre, so lets not stick to any rules and dismiss aggression from our stuff. You're probably thinking the same anyway so that's good....we agree. And you spent over a grand on a computer that crashes. Hahhahahaaaaa........See ya at the weekend. We have to discuss things and I have some ace songs that we need to make good or we ain't using the lyrics. And then I'll tell you about 19 years of bad luck that no-one knows about.............we'll have a bitter emo session. And carry on and be the best.....which we will be. And ive got 5 yrs worth of shit happening to me written in lyric form, and there was one event which lead me to write some right weird shit. My job isnt just a bass player, i think u need to widen your perspective. There are loads more bands who are more powerful than the Deftones and ET9 who arnt using distortion, i never wanna be like those bands at all. Im sorry if this doesnt please you but i aint going shit metal and forcing it into emo. Emo is a feel or lyrics, it is a style which we need to work on with the music as well. I can play anything, and i should hope so after 5 years, so im looking for a challenge, not just shitty 4/4 borin plodding metal. I want odd rhythms, catchy chorus, different time signitures, and loads of other stuff.Lyrics are a big part, but songwriting is not a thing to be done in separate parts, we need to get togetherand put one song totally in place. I aint having a go and i aint stressed, but ive seeen this happen in all my bands, and its gotta stop now, talk soon dude, we luv ya joe

OK....Gaz. Here's what I really meant by power. Listen to Rich Girl's Misletoe by Spy Vs Spy. Then listen to Knife Party and Digital Bath by Deftones. Then listen to Tat Twan Asi by earthtone9. Then listen to Invalid Litter Dept by ATD-I.......and then Arcarsenal. These are powerfull songs but they make you wanna move and do something about something. That's what I want. Hardcore like Arc Angel and Stampin Ground is just aggressive. It's not powerfull. I have several songs locked away that we just can't bring to fruition as we are. They're songs that I don't want to be just happy with....like the ones we have now. Don't get me wrong, the songs we've got are good and a great base to start from. I want to sing these songs the way I feel them and I won't let us use them until we can get a sound that is in keeping with the nature of each song. Even to the point of being frustratingly perfectionist...these songs can only go with the right music. That's your job. You Lee and Sweed are gonna have to try and get into key with what I'm thinking about when I'm writing these songs. All the song titles are changing too. Apart from Meaningless. We need to have a proper discussion this weekend. Let's sort this out or we'll end up as just another crappy GY punk band

I will always like atdi but there old stuff is a lot better, just not as good production. Smashing Pumpkins are not emo, whoever said that- they are grunge so there. I liked at the drive in last xmas so therefore i win. rasp- bash ping. The bands direction needs to be sorted- i heard from my sources that people are trying to turn it into shit nu-metal- no way boys, that would be shit. If you want power its not just the speed you need to look at. NOFX are fast but arnt very powerful, so the problem lies elsewhere. There is a song by At the drive in called 'Napoleon Solo' which is very slow but oh soo powerful and moving about their friends who died in a car crash(i think). Boy sets Fire has a song called Swingset which is soft until the end, but is very powerful. U need to see other forms of power in order to make us more powerful- plus our stuff is too happy and too predictable- but that will change in time

I might be coming home for good guys, i have had enough of being bored and depressed on my own here. Get us a gig someone, anyone!!! Did sweed go to bob Solid and sell us out!!! I don't care, anything will do. I think my friend Chris who livees here is playing with Green Acre and 100 Reasons, fucking ace. We know u don't like 100 reasons Joe but the show was soooooooo good. It didnt have all the fancy rock n roll lighting and effects, and the pa was tiny, but they would have made no difference to the bands hypo energeticness(spelling!!!!). It has put faith back into the underground gigs for me; and inspired me for us to play ANYWHERE ASAP. I know you are all busy, and me and lee havnt really tried but from now on we all start promoting, getting gigs, anything which gives us a name. Joe, amp wise we are gonna have to have a band chat. If we are all serious, a small PA is in order-split between us but its gonna cost! You have the mic but nothing good to put it through. If we are gonna make a go we need a PA, some cheap mikes to mic up sweed and for back vocals. I wanna get this going properly, i can tell we could go far if we tried. After ive spent all this time, effort and stacks of money on playing its about time a band of mine took off- lets see it be this band. Xmas needs to be packed with gigs, and we need proper decent flyers for it. None of this DIY shit- it gets u nowhere. Good idea to give the songs more power/speeed. OK Jon....if someone brings a camera out on Fri/Sat then no problem. We'll take some pix of Gertrude and the band and other shit. I also need Gaz to bring those pix he took before they left (Emo night when Gertrude cried). We need some pix for the site. Everyone needs to start signing this site. Thanx to the yanks for singing the book. Everyone should go to their sites and support them. And Jon....Gertrude is now on the Synopsis page. Hope she'll be happy with that. Tell her I love her right down to the new passanger side wing mirror. And give her a big kiss from me....right on the radiator. Don't try and hack the site....it'll take months and by the time you get through we'll have posted your real IP on every security type website, stolen your identity, stolen your credit cards and ordered ten thousand domino pizzas to your house.
