Here is another one that I have used many times and it was written by Sue.

Away from friends and family
you wonder what it's for
but trust God has a plan
only he knows what's in store.

A shooting star is falling
you catch it with your eye
at home someone is praying
and troops are their reply.

You're a national hero
you make us feel secure
although your heart is homesick
it's also strong and pure.

So hold your head up proudly
as you continue on your mission
and know that for your safe return
America is praying and wishin'.
