Subject: OT--I got small balck ants in my kitchen---need help
okay I hate these little ants. I have tried salt, ant traps, smushing everyone I can and no luck. Any ideas how to get rid of them?

Wendy, I had ants too and I couldn't live with them either... I called a company to come spray my house, one that does not do harm to pets and kids... he did a great job one spraying is all it took. It also works on Spider too... and I hate spiders... oh ya, I tried all of the home things and store things and this was the only thing that worked and they have not come back, that was a year ago. They also told me if they came back within a month they would spray again for free... Just call around but be careful don't want chemicals that will harm the kids and pets... I have used "Terro" with good results. It is a clear, thick, kinda sticky liquid that the ants take back to the nest & share it.....then they die.

My mother has had this problem and tried many remedies. Terro that Willow mentioned worked for her too. You can get it in hardware stores and possibly even Wal-Mart. Meanwhile, you might want to read this thread in archives:

Apparently, you and I are not the only ones having problems with ants right now. Here's a link to another discussion about getting rid of ants. I, too, hate them and want them gone!!!

I use baking soda of couse everytime it rains I need to reaply. I heard that ants breath threw their feet or legs and when they cross the baking soda they die. I use it all around the pool in the summer and the by the door entrances and I even sprinkle some on my window sills. It works and it is not toxic or expensive I go to Sam's club and buy a 5 pound bag. Good Luck
