London Shortlists PPP Bidders

LONDON UNDERGROUND (LU) has shortlisted bidders for Public-Private Partnership (PPP) infrastructure contracts for deep-level Tube lines. Railtrack, the owner of Britain's mainline railway infrastructure, has already been selected as preferred bidder for sub-surface lines.

Linc, Metronet, TubeRail, and NewMetro will be invited to tender for the Bakerloo, Central, and Victoria lines (Infraco BCV). Linc, Metronet, TubeRail, and Tube Lines Group will be invited to tender for the Jubilee, Northern, and Piccadilly lines (Infraco JNP). LU issued invitations to tender last month, and bids are due to be returned in spring 2000.
