Robbo was often seen playing a black LP custom but also Standards ... Scott played a LP Delux and later a '59 "Sunburst" LP Standard that is believed to have started life as a "Gold Top". Snowy usually plays a Gold Top. Gary Moore plays all sorts but usually LPs with Lizzy. All tended to use Marshall amps with occasional variations.

The over all sound is the classic Les Paul through Marshall valvetube head through 4x12 speakers. Classic "Britsh" rock tone.

Eric Bell was the exception he plays a Strat fitted with humbucker p'ups.
