It is quite an achievement 18 years after he passed away. To be recognised in say the top 3, 5 or 10 (wherever) of Irish people is one thing (and would be rather more expected), but to be recognised in a top 100 of "British" black people is quite another. For this purpose, I agree better he achieves the recognition rather than any of us have a debate over the definition of the Bristish Isles geographically, physically or politically. He's on the list, and that is the important thing. With acknowledgements from bands such as The Darkness and other contemporary artists, maybe......just maybe, his legacy is finally being recognised.
