Hello again Becky
I see from your last post that you are confused about Jesus. God is not the author of confusion
1 Corinthians 14:33 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.
It is the devil who is the author of confusion. He is out to destroy us and to keep us from coming to Christ. There is a battle for our souls Jesus has won the battle on the cross by shedding His blood on our behalf but we must trust Him Many believe in Jesus with head knowledge but do not trust Him from the heart
Listen carefully to what Jesus Himself says about those who will not believe Him John 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
45 And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not.
46 Which of you convinceth me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do ye not believe me?
47 He that is of God heareth God's words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God.
There are no contradictions in the Bible. The Bible is the word of God and is true from Genesis to Revelations.
Numbers 23:19 God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?
Let us consider your last article in detail I will show your quotes in blue
God is God... Jesus is Jesus...
Thomas called Jesus Lord and God
John 20:28 And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.
God is ONE... God is the one we worship
Jesus said John 10:30 I and my Father are one. More on this later in this page.
He received and approved human worship of Himself.
Matthew 14:33 Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God.
Matthew 28:9And as they went to tell His disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, "Rejoice!" So they came and held Him by the feet and worshiped Him.
You say God is the one we worship. Here in v9 the disciples worshiped Jesus and He did not rebuke them or say to them God is the one you should worship
Jesus like Moses, Abraham etc was a Prophet
Jesus was sent by GOD as a prophet to the Jewish people
He executed the office of a prophet of a priest and of a king but that makes Him no less God in the flesh
He was a prophet but that is not all He was
2- Jesus referred to God as Father, because at the time that’s what everyone referred to God. ...
Jesus said He had power to lay down His life and power to take it again
John 10:18 No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.
Now look who it is that raised Him up
Acts 2:32 This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.
God raised Him up and yet Jesus said He had power to rise Himself up.
So God and Jesus are the same in power and glory
Jesus was a Human, was born from a mother, eats works sleeps like humans... he has miracles just like all prophets.
Yes He had human nature but He also had Divine nature, look what the angel said to His mother.
Luke 1:35And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.
It is medically recognized that it is the blood of the father and not the mother which flows through the child’s vanes. So it Gods blood which flowed through Jesus vanes.
Theirfor it is precious and incorruptible blood. Whoever will receive cleansing from sin by the blood of Jesus shall never perish
John 10:28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
Jesus was a Messenger FROM God.
More than that He was God.
IS GOD NOT ONE.
There are three persons in the Godhead. Father Son and Holy Ghost
The Trinity (three persons in one) is a doctrine which people find difficult to understand
How can three be one?
The Father, Son and Holy Ghost are combined in one and in total agreement with each other. They do not act independent of each other. They are a complete unity
John 14:10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
John 5:19 Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.
The Trinity is also seen in the Old Testament.
Isaiah 48:16 Come ye near unto me, hear ye this; I have not spoken in secret from the beginning; from the time that it was, there am I: and now the Lord GOD, and his Spirit, hath sent me.
Jesus is called Lord and God.
John 20:28 And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.
1 John 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
The Word in this verse means Christ
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
He is called many other names in the Bible, we will only note some of them at this time
He is called Emmanuel meaning God with us.
Matthew 1:23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
When His coming was prophesied in Isa9:6 He is called
Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
IN Mathew 21:11 And the crowds said, This is the prophet Jesus of Nazareth of Galilee.
Never trust the crowds. Always be wary of multitudes They twist the truth and try to keep people from coming to Christ. Crowds in the Bible are typical of crowds today. They see Jesus in all sorts of ways In this verse the crowds saw Him only as a prophet and not as Christ the King, in the previous verse they said,” Who is this?”
Many claim to be followers of Him who do not really know Him as their own and personal Saviour. The time will come when He will as He often did with crowds in the Bible send them away and call His true disciples unto Himself
Watch the crowd in the following verses:
Matthew 20:29 And as they departed from Jericho, a great multitude followed him.
30 And, behold, two blind men sitting by the way side, when they heard that Jesus passed by, cried out, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou Son of David.
31 And the multitude rebuked them, because they should hold their peace: but they cried the more, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou Son of David.
32 And Jesus stood still, and called them, and said, What will ye that I shall do unto you?
33 They say unto him, Lord, that our eyes may be opened.
34 So Jesus had compassion on them, and touched their eyes: and immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed him.
In Mark, 6:4, it is stated that Jesus referred to himself as a prophet: And Jesus said to them, A prophet is not without honour, except in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house.
The people in His hometown had tried to kill Jesus a year before (Luke 4:29), but He graciously returned and gave them another opportunity to get to know Him. They thought they really knew Him because He had grown up in their city and lived there for thirty years. Yet they saw Him only as “the carpenter” (v. 3) and not as the Son of God, and they were amazed at His wisdom and works. Familiarity of the wrong kind encouraged unbelief, and unbelief robbed them of blessing. Just as He had marveled at faith (Matthew. 8:10), Jesus now marveled at unbelief.
In the following verses, Jesus is referred to as having been sent as a messenger is sent.
In Matthew 10:40, Jesus was purported to have said: He that receiveth you receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.
I would like you to start at the beginning of this chapter and read it carefully and you will see who Jesus was talking to. He was talking to those who He was sending to preach the gospel and He was saying to them he who will receive your message about Me and believe it is actually receiving Me. Then He goes on to say he that receiveth Me is actually receiving Him that sent Me Which is God. So if we receive Christ we receive God.
In John 17:3, Jesus is also quoted as saying: ;And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
.Jesus had two natures. He was God and man. God manifest in the flesh.
In this Verse He is speaking as a man would speak to God
The following Verse proves that Jesus Christ is the true God
1 John 5:20And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.
