Interesting post lady.

I think age does matter. When all is said and done I want to talk and share with someone who has the same knowledge as I do. When we talk about some time in history we do not always agree but at least I don't have to explain the entire event to him.

I have a friend who married a man 10 yrs. younger than she, and it is so hard so have discussions. It is hard to tell him about the space program because he was a child at the time.

I like the fact my husband and I who grew up thousands of miles apart both have memories of music, and news events etc. from almost the same era. (He is 5 yrs, older than me.)

When we talk about the JFK era he voted and I was not old enough but I was old enough to understand what he is talking about.

We share fond memories when the radio is on. We can say "Remember this song?" and the other can answer yes.

Too often a man marries, raises a family and when he is successful gets rid of the old wife and on with the new. Of course new wife must be pretty enough to build up his ego.

Sorry I do go on, but you need someone in your life to share things with not someone you have to teach.
