HiYa Mary,

Well, I guess I can have a little bit of input here. My husband of 5 yrs is 18 yrs older than I am, we've been together for 6. He was born in 1957, I in 1975. We first met each other when I was 18, and got married when I was 22. We have had 2 beautiful little girls together & he has taken my son into his heart to raise him as his own. We have our share of problems, but I don't think they are more than in any other relationship. We have a lot of the same interests, he is very young at heart & I had to grow up very fast when I was younger. I think it depends a great deal on the couple.

Perhaps it also has a bit to do with the percieved maturity level of the opposite sex. When I met my husband, most "men" my age (21) seemed very immature & unable (or unwilling) to take on the responciblity of raising a child (especially if they had no part in making the child ...but that another story). I guess it's in what you're looking for in a relationship & where you are in our life. If two people are in the same place in there life, then I don't think age has much to do with it except for our own pre-concived notions.

I'm going to be a bit of a stinker & answer this question with another. What is the age difference between you & your loved one? I don't believe there is an "ideal" age difference to be honest. The heart knows not of age, we love who we love.

"LOL" Nicole, BHCAZ
