Subject: Nancy Brookbank

What is the deal with you and Nancy Brookbank? I find it quite alarming that you are connecting yourself to her group. If you want to be State's Attorney, shouldn't you be more sympathetic to the victim, i.e. the little boy she was found guilty of harming? What is your message here?

My message is clear. Ms. Brookbank believes she is innocent. I encourage her, just like any other person who believes they have been wrongly convicted, to use every legal mechanism to prove their innocence. While I believe strongly in our criminal justice system, I know it is not perfect. Since the reinstitution of the death penalty over 100 people condemned to die have later been determined to be innocent of the crimes they were condemned for. What greater injustice could there be than for our system to kill an innocent person?

I am very sympathetic to the victim in this matter. I am also sympathetic to his family. Moreover, since members of my immediate family have been the victim of life threatening assaults I believe I can emphatize with them as well.

I believe that DNA played a major role in proving that these people were innocent. DNA is not a factor in this case! Do you know what DNA is? O.J. Simpson says he is innocent too.
What greater injustice can you see when someone in your position is acting anti-sypathetic to the little baby who Nancy Brookbank was found guilty of abusing. Do you realize that she took his life that day and that the neurosurgeon who operated on him and saved his life, said that he was injured while in her care! There isn't any DNA out there that can change his testimony or the verdict. Nancy Brookbank didn't get the death penalty, Jack Sprague did!!!!!!!!!!!!! She got 5 lousy years and she should serve it with a little bit of humility and shame. Little Jack Sprague received life in prison; imprisoned in his mind and body.
She knows what she did to him and God will never forgive her for it!
Your message IS CLEAR! You support a convicted child abuser and you will lose votes because of it. I hope all 700 of them are old enough to vote.

You are correct DNA did play a role in clearing some of the people I mentioned but in many cases it was just good footwork and investigative skill, in many cases by those outside law enforcement.

As I mentioned before I symphatize with the victim in this matter. Again, I don't have an opinion about guilt or innocence on the part of Nancy Brookbank. Only that she maintains her innocence and if she believes she is innocent, she should continue to fight to prove her innocence.
