In reply to: Shannon 's message, "Nancy Brookbank's Support Meetings" on 12:00:34 10/01/02 Tue

I was invited to a meeting of the supporters of Ms. Brookbank earlier this year. I attended the meeting and found a number of working class people, primarily woman, supporting Ms. Brookbank. I was taken back by this because in my 29 years in criminal justice I have never seen so many people adamant about ones innocence. I was also taken back by the fact the group opened the meeting with a prayer for the victim and his family.

I was later invited to address the support group. I did so. I told them how difficult child abuse cases are to investigate and prosecute. At no time did I criticize either the investigators or the prosecutors.

I was asked if I would sign a petition asking the governor pardon or repreive Ms. Brookbank, I did not sign it.

I was asked if I would sign a petition stating in my belief Ms. Brookbank is innocent, I would not sign it.

I don't know the facts of this tragic case. I do not have an opinion as to Ms. Brookbanks guilt or innocence. However I support anyone who believes they have been wrongly convicted of a crime

You may not have signed the petition, but it clearly states on the supporter web site the following, "We appreciate Lou Hennesey attending the last support meeting and for his ideas, especially his input on the petition draft." Your excuse that you cannot control what someone puts on their website doesn't fool anyone.

Mary, maybe you have control over what others put on their website. I do not. I have visited the website one time many months ago. I don't know what is on it and don't particularly care what is on it.

If you think I am trying to fool someone by entering or controlling information on others website, you overestimate my computer skills.

According to the Maryland Independent the last support group meeting was Sept. 30 and I was not there so apparently the quote is wrong.

If you want the truth feel free to call me.

Dear Mr. Hennessy....

Don't even in a moment let anyone believe that you don't have total control over your webmaster and what is posted to linked to and connected with your campaign site...!

If you choose to take that position...then you are even more ignorant than your previous judicial and FBI position stances prove and you should never be voted into the position that you are campaigning for....go figure..."Big Red Truck"....!

Your comments don't really deserve a response but I will humor you. The website I said I did not have control over was not my website, it was someone elses website. Get your facts straight.

The rest of your comments I can't address because they make no sense.
