Subject: 1998 Kia Sephia Kamakaze!

Yesterday (1/11/06), my 1998 Kia Sephia LS model caught on fire and burned to the ground. I had just hit 90,000 miles on it, and there was no warning that anything was wrong. I had just bought new tires and new spark plugs, and was seemingly running like a dream until all of a sudden the cab filled with smoke, my breaks wouldn't work, and by the time I unstrapped myself and got out of the car, the whole engine bay was in flames. From what I was told by the car people, the break lines busted and sprayed the engine... a small spark caused it to burn, and very rapidly. I was lucky I could pull over and stop before it made it to the driver seat!
Sure, the darn thing was paid for (that's why I bought it... cheap and low maintenance) but was it worth it? I could have died!!! I am 32 weeks pregnant, and I had to go to the hospital afterwards. Luckily, the baby is okay, but now I have to buy a new car with no tradein.
I will NEVER EVER buy a Kia again. I wouldn't want to risk my life like that!
