Catalytic Converster split. Replaced.
Rear Trunk Release button/switch does not work...fixed once to no avail.
Engine revs when foot NOT on gas, car jumped out of gear while driving, when shifting, shifter does not rest comfortably into gear positions, Check Engine Light came on.

Was told nothing wrong with transmission and shifter has no problem, needs to be “wiggled” into position. Also reported at that time a loud “clunking” noise is heard when shifted into reverse and when car is idling, the headlights flicker as if straining for energy. Recommended alternator check. Was told that alternator was fine.

Rear Defroster Not working. Fixed. “Whining” heard from engine…not addressed. Was told a service department check-in normal sound, belt needed oiled.

Check Engine light on. New transmission installed, due to metal shavings in transmission fluid.
PRIOR to leaving service department, I reported that shifter was doing same, earlier reported problem. Still hear noise when shifted into reverse.

A pin (?) was replaced in shifting column. Was told that a soda had been spilled in column. **Not while I owned the car. Complained AGAIN, prior to leaving service department that car was not feeling right due to revving and shifter.

Rubber molding on rear window and around front driver door defective and/or rotted. Front door rubber squeezed down into the track still comes out when temperature/weather is cold.

Called and reported that car is still jumping out of gear.
Car was to be repaired after it was finished in the body shop. Car was painted in body shop. One week later, I called to ask if mechanic repairs were completed. Was told that NOTHING had been done mechanically. Car was NOT sent to service dep. from the body shop as requested. **Was noted that service DID need to retrieve the car from the Body Shop. Car ready for pick up minus repairs. I turned in my rental and retrieved my car.

Did NOT drive car for 3 months.

Was told by service department that when a loaner car was available, I would be called.

Car @ service department for 1 month, replacing rear window, due to in-operable rear defroster AGAIN. Reported hearing noise when car hits large bumps and when put into reverse, and is revving and skipping gears. Dome light bulb blows every 2 months. Was told to buy a light bulb. Oil change performed…NO fluids checked. Brake light on. Was told I needed rotors. Received car back w/low brake fluid, NO windshield fluid. I replenished brake fluid, light went out. Rotors are good; need pads in a few months.

Front headlights have blown and I have replaced at my cost 3 times. Rear windshield wiper motor does not work. Reported this and other issues, checked on loaner car status. Car continues to have power surge when idling IE: headlights flicker up and down and engine makes straining noise. Will be called when loaner is available.

Car jumped out of gear and hit a wall. Minor damage. Reported this to service department and was told that perhaps I had been mistaken…perhaps I inadvertently stepped on gas pedal. Continue to hear squealing belt (?) and noises when reversing. When loaner car available I will be called.

Car not driven for 4 months.

Car revved, loud low humming noise when idling. Check engine light came on. Car lurched a couple of feet and stopped against a wall. No damage. Car driven SLOWLY w/hazard lights on and has been parked since.

**Please note: After seeing many reports on the news and in the newspaper regarding the recall of my car, I called the service department and also mentioned other issues. Was told that I should wait until I receive necessary paperwork from Kia. Still no loaner available.
Gasoline may leak into the engine on 483,000 Cadillacs and Oldsmobile Auroras models for 1995 through 1997, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said. A total of 278,266 Kia Spectra and Sephia from the 2000 and 2001 model years are being checked for spills during refueling, which led to the recall of 100,000 Sephias made before 2000.
