But it's rather rare these days. Today I'm all alone here at my West-coast workplace, it's pre-Canada-Day Sunday, everything is closed, I even had to do with Nescafe for breakfast! Although I seem to actually like this stuff (with lots of cream and sugar, yumm), - is it perhaps loaded with addictives like all the cat and dog food we hear about?

I guess ever since the DVD player I spend more time catching up watching movies, you know, it's what you need to perform well in the daily discussions on American politics. For some entirely unknown reason I started collecting Jet Li stuff, something you probably wouldn't enjoy too much. Out of all the other movies I recently checked out I thought "Finding Forester" was really good, I loved it. And watching "Immortal beloved" with the director's commentary on was very interesting, the guy says a few things about the music of the 20th century that our Zeitgeist might not at all agree on. And yet, I found myself plenty nodding to some of his remarks about the general emptiness in our heads these days, given the shallow stuffings we so willingly delight in. His theory about the never-resolved addressee of Beethoven's letter is somewhat intriguing, he bases it on the extremely unusual (at the time) fight of Beethoven for custody of his nephew. Why would he have done it if not for his own son, the director asks. Well, I says, it's just as likely that the "Immortal beloved" letter was actually addressed to the nephew himself, is it not?

And so it goes. Did Wolfie ever make it across the pond? Did you finish your big job? Is Dan a happy puppy? Did Kris embark on her European photo tour? SaiAmi haven't been to the Web in ages, they must be really busy tsk tsk? Also, I was attacked by a sandhill crane in a bird sanctuary not so long ago, very beautiful creature, except for this I wondered whether it might have been some duck in disguise. ;-) By the way, if you keep waiting with your Sweden trip I might be around, too, there are vague plans to go there next Spring.

Well, anybody else???
