It's just short for "grandpa". He found out that he was named for his mothers boyfriend at the time (yes, she was still married) and he found that concept quite unsettling. Some people still refer to him as Ron, even though he legally has no name. I'm not sure exactly how you get your name changed to nothing, but he did.

This is a good question and I'm not sure how to answer it. The Book of Mormon makes it quite clear that the gentiles are to ASSIST in the building of Zion. Most gentiles get all indignant at this statement, because they want to be the ones that actually have the mission of Zion.

I do know that there is still interaction with many of the First Nations, but to what degree and for what purpose, I cannot say.

He is quite a neat guy. He's now married and has a son. He does visit quite regularly and everyone still regards each other as family.

I'm sure he does. As far as a specific "beloved one", I cannot say. He has referred to several people that he has worked with and always speaks fondly of each of them.

By and large, yes. We are not locked into being identified with the Dead Sea Essenes. Remember, they never had Zion. Culturally and religiously, it was a very appropriate point of reference. However, we are still us, not them. The Lord always has something that needs to be done and everyone needs to be able to know what there part is and to get out there and do it. We don't see our mission as being just an extension or continuation of that group.

Now one quick question for you. Are you the fellow that emailed me from Oklahoma about two years ago?
