I dont know. People have it so much better today than they ever have and yet they are discontented with it all. I think, in general, people have been sold a crappy bill of goods. An idea that stuff is what makes you happy. An idea that personal gain makes you happy. Instead they get stuff and amasse some semblence of personal gain and find that it doesnt make them happy at all. TV, computers, video games, portable video games, cell phones and texting, etc etc etc. All this stuff is isolating people from other people not the other way around.

I think that people need to get off the virtual bandwagon and start being with other people. People need to eat with their families around the dinner table. Neighbors need to be neighbors again. My Grandmother knew practically everyone in a 10 mile area. I dont know everyone that lives in my subdivision. People need to get more involved with their communities instead of isolating themselves. Only when we can get some of that back will some of this selfishness and pettiness be minimized.
