Both films make good use of the close-up.

Both films have a copper enthralled to the villain.

Both directors like to use the same actors, they used before. For Lynch, it is Brad Dourif and Jack Nance. For Russell, it is Imogen Claire and Christopher Gable.

In both films, the best acting is done by the villain in the film.

Both films are not cemented in time.

Both films end on a question. "Blue Velvet" Was it all a dream? "Lair of the White Worm" What will happen next?

Until next time and "Rumours. There are Always Rumours." Enjoy.
