"I bet your girlfriend doesn't do this for you."

With these nine words, we are introduced to a character, we never see, and who is never mentioned again, but, if one knows something about personal relationships, one can guess somethings about her.

(1) She too is a competitive swimmer. That is where they met.

(2) She too is fond of Star Trek. I put that in, because I think they met somewhere other than school or work, but I think the first is more likely.

(3) She too is fifteen. I can't see her being much older or younger than him.
