And Kelsey Grammer proved his acting chops in this one, too.
But, why oh why, do today's heroes have to be so unlikable, at least at the beginning of the film? I don't remember this always being the case in films.

Actually, our Amanda has had to deal with a surprsing number of heroes who started out being unlikable, at least in the beginning: "Circus," "The Real Howard Spitz," "The Madness of King George," "Paper Mask," "Diamond Skulls," "Castaway," and "Liar, Liar."

It was good seeing a library like that in the film. Having grown up in libraries much like that one.

That's why the city didn't look familiar. At first, I thought it was New York, but, it didn't look like New York. Then, I thought it was Chicago, but, it didn't look like Chicago. And then, I thought it was San Francisco, but, it didn't look like San Francisco. That is because it was filmed in Halifax. Of course, I should have recognized it as Halifax, having been to Halifax once or twice in my life.

I liked the music used in the film. Of course, it was the old stand-bys. Tchaikovsky's "Nutcracker Suite," Strauss, Jr's "The Blue Danube," Strauss, Jr.'s "Tales from the Vienna Woods."

To be continued . . .
