As much as I enjoy seeing our Amanda in "Lair of the White Worm," I enjoy seeing her in something new, and I finally got to see her in "The Real Howard Spitz."Which to my estimation is her best role, well, since "Lair of the White Worm" and "The Rainbow." Thus proving the old show biz adage, that given a halfway decent script and a halfway decent director, an actor can turn in a halfway decent performance.

While it started out as a mystery, it was not a mystery. Our Amanda seems to be involved in a surprising number of films that have an aura of mystery to them. This one and "Lucky Day," "Rock the Boat," "Circus," "The Substitute," "Shame," "Paper Mask," "Game, Set, Match," and even "Lair of the White Worm."

I think this is the first time I've seen her as a blonde. I am not quite sure what to think of that. Anyway, it proves the perception, that if she wears her hair long, she is portraying a heterosexual, and if she wears her hair short, she is portraying a lesbian or a bisexual. The only exception I can remember is in "Paper Mask," where she wears her hair short, but portrays a heterosexual.

To be continued . . .
