Sometimes a name doesn't mean anything to you. Only later does it take on meaning. The name Tilda Swinton didn't mean anything to me, until I heard she was set to play Lady Sylvia Marsh in "Lair of the White Worm," until our Amanda got the role, but, now at least, her name had meaning for me. Thus, when I saw her name associated with the film "Orlando," . . . Now, there is a strange film. Maybe as strange as "Lair of the White Worm." In it, unlike in "Shakespeare in Love," where you have a woman playing a man, so she can play a woman, you actually have a woman playing a man. That would be Tilda playing the title character, Orlando. The last time I saw anything like that, was in 1932's "The Old Dark House." Of course, to balance everything out, a man plays the part of a woman, as Quentin Crisp plays Queen Elizabeth I in "Orlando."
